The Opportunities Party (TOP) believes that by investing in our future, addressing housing affordability and actioning smart policy – we can get New Zealand on the right path.
TOP is committed to investing in New Zealand’s next generation. Our Teal Card will support those under 30 with free healthcare, public transport and financial equity. We need fresh thinking so younger Kiwis inherit a fair, liveable and sustainable world.
We’re proposing to improve our tax system to get the settings right; with the first $15k being tax free, updated tax brackets and a Land Value Tax. Combined, these will address housing affordability and the cost of living.
TOP is passionate about reducing political tribalism. New Zealand is slipping towards a more divided left/right. Division prevents collaborative solutions, and it's more important than ever for everyone to work together. TOP is not left or right, but forward looking and future focused. Our role is to continue to work collaboratively to push for smart policy that will benefit New Zealand's future.
Founded in 2017, TOP has been through two elections. We haven’t met the 5% threshold, but we’ve learnt a lot.
In 2023, things are different. Raf Manji has become the TOP Leader, and is in a great position to win Ilam. If Raf wins Ilam, TOP will be in Parliament.

How we'll succeed:
1. Raf wins Ilam
The Ilam electorate is our road to Parliament, and Raf’s got a great chance of winning it. If Raf wins, we can get more people in Parliament – even if we get less than 5% of the party vote.
2: Count up party votes
Every vote counts. The more people TOP has in Parliament, the more influence we have in decision making.
3: Work across Parliament to achieve the best outcomes for Kiwis
We will work collaboratively with other parties to ensure TOP’s values are represented.
